Introduction:

This continues the in-depth training in anatomy begun in Anatomy for Artists 1, layering soft tissues onto the skeleton started in that course.

Course Structure and Content:

Students will complete their detailed écorché, and also engage in drawing exercises to consolidate their detailed understanding of Artistic Anatomy. The simplifications of soft tissue masses from the basic écorché section of the Semester 1 course "Drawing Essentials", will be broken apart into their constituent smaller parts, before reinforcing the larger patterns once again.

Learning Objectives:

After the completion of the course, students will: *Have a a solid foundation in anatomy that will allow them to continue to learn and explore on their own; *Have a deep understanding of the character of the key landmarks that are used build up figure drawings; *Construct a well-structured, balanced, accurate, and anatomically detailed representation of the human subject.
